Your Role And Responsibilities
As an Azure Cloud Full Stack Application Developer, you will work in a modern cloud-native environment, building solutions around Azure Native services, microservices-based modular designs, and API-driven microservices. You will collaborate with teams to deliver scalable and resilient backend microservices and rich UI applications using SPA or similar front-end frameworks such as React.
You will sit at the intersection of technical delivery and client consulting, working on-site with our client in Perth. Your day-to-day will involve writing and reviewing code, but also facilitating workshops, running solution demos, and presenting progress to steering committees and senior stakeholders.
On the technical side, you will design and build web applications using Azure cloud services including Azure Functions, App Services, and Azure SQL. You will develop integration layers between client systems, contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, and support solutions built on D365, Dataverse, and the broader Power Platform.
You will work within Agile squads and be expected to move across workstreams as client priorities shift.
On the consulting side, you will engage directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into practical technical approaches, and present options that balance value with feasibility.
You will help identify opportunities to expand the engagement and contribute to the overall client relationship. Building trust with client counterparts at both operational and management levels is a core part of the role.
You will take ownership of your deliverables and drive outcomes with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone who is self-directed, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in ambiguity — someone who can move between a code review and a client workshop in the same afternoon without missing a beat.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
* 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in application development using Azure cloud services and modern web frameworks. You should be comfortable working across the full stack - front-end interfaces, RESTful APIs, and cloud-hosted data services.
* Practical experience with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including services such as Azure Functions, App Services, and Azure SQL. You don't need to have used every service under the sun, but you should know your way around deploying and maintaining workloads in Azure.
* Front-end development experience using React or a comparable SPA framework. You will be building and maintaining user-facing applications, so a solid grasp of component-based UI development is important.
* Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tooling, particularly Azure DevOps. You will be expected to contribute to build and release pipelines as part of normal delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to present to and communicate with business stakeholders in a client-facing consulting environment. This is not a back-room dev role - you will be in the room with the client regularly.
* Experience working in professional services, consulting, or a similar client-embedded delivery model where you are accountable to both your employer and the client organisation.
* Exposure to the Microsoft Power Platform (Dataverse, Power Automate, D365) is well regarded. You won't necessarily be a platform specialist, but an understanding of how these tools fit into the broader solution landscape will set you apart.
* Relevant Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-204, AZ-900, AZ-400) are a plus but not a dealbreaker.
* Available to work on-site in Perth, Western Australia. Current Australian work rights are required.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
* Background in the utilities, energy, or government sectors in Australia. If you have delivered technology projects in these industries before, you will already understand the operating environment, regulatory nuances, and stakeholder dynamics that come with the territory.
* A consulting mindset - comfortable managing ambiguity, setting expectations with clients, and balancing what the business wants with what is technically realistic. You know how to push back constructively and still keep the relationship strong.
* Commercial awareness and a natural instinct for spotting where technology can solve a business problem or create new value for the client. We want people who think beyond the ticket and consider the bigger picture.
* Experience building trusted relationships with client counterparts at operational and management levels. You are someone clients go to when they want a straight answer, not just a status update.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence leading workshops, running live demos, and presenting to senior client stakeholders without needing heavy preparation or hand-holding.
* Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and a willingness to flex across workstreams as client priorities evolve. Rigid role boundaries do not work well in this environment - adaptability matters.
* Experience with integration middleware or API management platforms such as MuleSoft is a bonus, particularly in contexts where multiple enterprise systems need to talk to each other.
* Any prior exposure to Optimizely or similar digital experience platforms will be looked on favourably, though it is not expected.
