We have a great opportunity for a full time Legal Secretary to join our team at our Parramatta offices. This role will have you responsible for providing support to a friendly and approachable Senior Lawyer, with ongoing training and development provided. Your daily duties will include:
* Provide administrative support to solicitor, including managing diaries, organising meetings, and handling correspondence.
* Draft legal documents and letters based on notes or dictation from legal professionals.
* Maintain client confidentiality and manage sensitive information securely.
* Build and sustain relationships with clients, legal professionals, and court officials on behalf of the solicitors.
* Exercise sound judgement in decision-making about what needs to be referred to the supported legal professionals.
* Legal Correspondence and Documentation: Prepare legal correspondence and compile court documents.
* Court Filing and Client Reception: Attend to court filing duties and greet clients at reception.
* Conference and Hearing Preparation: Prepare matters for conferences and hearings.
* Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor junior staff members.
* Client Care and Support: Provide a high level of care and professional support to our clients.
* Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
What will you bring?
You will be an experienced personal injuries Legal Secretary with a passion for social justice and generating positive outcomes for clients. The following experience and skills will ensure your success in this position:
* A natural passion for helping people and high level of empathy
* Excellent communication skills and customer service
* Excellent written drafting skills with experience in drafting basic PIPA Notices of Claim, Statements, Lists of Documents, Statements of Loss and Damage, and Court applications and affidavits for solicitor to settle
* Attention to detail and time management
* Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
* Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
* A willingness to learn
