We have been exclusively retained to appoint Senior Electrical Engineer for a growing Australian engineering consultancy specialising in power systems, high-voltage infrastructure, and complex electrical design projects across the utilities and energy sectors. We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Sydney team. This role will suit an engineer with strong technical capability in substation and power systems design, a practical approach to project delivery, and the ability to provide leadership across complex engineering assignments. This position plays an important role in delivering high quality engineering outcomes across HV transmission, substations, and associated utility sector projects, while balancing technical, commercial, safety and client requirements. The position description highlights responsibility for detailed electrical design, commissioning, project coordination, reporting, estimates and ongoing communication with clients and internal stakeholders. Your key responsibilities: Undertake detailed electrical design for assigned power systems and substation projects Deliver high quality engineering outputs that are fit for purpose, cost effective, and compliant with client specifications, Australian Standards and statutory requirements Provide technical leadership across assigned projects and support resolution of complex engineering issues Support project delivery within financial, contractual, quality and safety requirements Prepare and contribute to engineering reports, technical documentation and work instructions Liaise with clients, authorities, project managers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle Contribute to the preparation of estimates for engineering design works and support effective cost control on projects Assist with design planning, coordination and delivery programs to ensure deadlines are achieved Support commissioning activities and provide engineering input into defect rectification and maintenance requirements Contribute to continuous improvement, quality management and safe delivery practices across the engineering team Your role requirements: Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering 8 to 10 years of experience in power systems, substation design, or HV electrical engineering environments Demonstrated experience delivering detailed design across utility, transmission, substations, or related electrical infrastructure projects Strong technical capability across power system design, calculations, layouts, drawings and engineering documentation Experience providing technical leadership and supporting project delivery outcomes Ability to work across multiple projects, manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, management and broader project teams Experience with relevant engineering software such as ETAP, CYMCAP, DIALux, CDEGS, or similar tools Exposure to commissioning, fault finding, relay related works, or broader power systems delivery will be highly regarded Current driver's licence preferred What's on offer: Opportunity to join a specialist engineering consultancy delivering important power systems and utility infrastructure projects Exposure to technically challenging substation and HV electrical design work A role with genuine scope for technical leadership and contribution across project delivery Supportive team environment with a strong focus on quality, safety and engineering outcomes Opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and clients across a diverse project portfolio How to apply: Click the APPLY button to submit your resume.
