Overview
Chris Tucker Marine Design is seeking applications from Naval Architects and other similar BE graduates (Mech, Aero etc) with up to 2 years experience.
The Company
Chris Tucker Marine Design is a Melbourne based naval architecture firm with a broad range of local and international clients. Current projects range from 4.4m production tinnies, government patrol boats to a new build 35m paddle steamer for the Murray River. While primarily a design office CTMD is also involved in a range of survey roles for commercial vessels.
Duties
- Naval Architecture – Stability, Structural Analysis, Resistance and Powering
- CAD Drawings
- Customer liaison and internal design meetings and reporting
- Survey of Domestic Commercial Vessels
- Actively participating in the continued growth of the business
- Proactively promoting quality, environmental responsibility & safety within the workplace.
Experience and Skills
This is a graduate/junior placement and while practical experience in the following areas will be viewed favorably, they are not essential:
- Welding / Small Vessel fabrication
- Commercial Vessel Survey
- Experience with the following software will be highly regarded:
- Rhino
- Maxsurf
- MS Office (specifically Excel)
- Bachelor or Engineering (Naval Architect, Mechanical, Aeronautical or similar)
- Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Aeronautical or Marine Engineering is required
Right to work in Australia
Candidates must hold permanent residency or Australian citizenship to be eligible for this position.
What we offer
CTMD has a strong focus on team work and the ongoing professional development of our employees through mentorship and external training. At CTMD you will be exposed to Australia\'s broadest range of project types and will be encouraged to develop skills and interests at your own pace. We work a 9 day (76 hour) fortnight. So you get every second Friday off.
This is primarily an "in office" role and we like working closely as a team. However, there will be the option to work from home on some projects as experience and expertise evolve.
