The Apprenticeship Consultant role encompasses promoting Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships at the local level. The Apprenticeship Consultant will proactively support employers, apprentices and stakeholders with navigating the apprenticeship framework and potential incentives. It is essential that the Apprenticeship Consultant is personable and motivated to maintain positive client relationships with all parties.

Mas National, part of IntoWork Australia, is a not-for-profit business that supports employment and training opportunities for individuals, employers and communities across Australia.

Mas National are an Apprentice Connect Australia Provider (ACAP) and we are contracted by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) to deliver Australian Apprenticeship Support Services (AASS) services across QLD, NSW, ACT, SA and TAS.

Our knowledgeable and passionate team support employers, stakeholders and individuals from pre-commencement through to completion of an Australian Apprenticeship or Traineeship.


About the role

Ready to make a real difference in people's careers? As an Apprenticeship Consultant, you'll be at the forefront of transforming lives by connecting individuals with life-changing apprenticeship opportunities. You'll focus primarily on increasing sign-ups across a breadth of industries, capitalising on growth opportunities within the local community while delivering exceptional customer service.

This dynamic position also engages with schools to boost awareness and participation in Australian School Based Apprenticeships through targeted school visits, career expos, and providing expert careers advice to potential apprentices and their families.


Key responsibilities

* Be a passionate advocate for promotion of Australian Apprenticeships as a career pathway
* Complete sign-up inductions with Employers and Australian Apprentices
* Build relationships with key stakeholders within the region to encourage commencement, retention and completion of Australian Apprenticeships via attendance at networking events, career expos and industry events
* Develop and maintain strong industry links and stakeholder engagement with employers, Registered Training Organisations, Schools and other stakeholders
* Promote business growth within Mas National and the IntoWork group
* Undertake Assessment Services with potential apprentices and employers to determine their readiness and ability to undertake an apprenticeship
* Raise the awareness and profile of Australian Apprenticeships and other VET training pathways, especially in terms of recruitment for key client groups, including First Nationals, Disability, Women in Trades and Regional and Remote
* Build strong relationships with schools identified in the School Engagement Plan to position MAS National as the ACAP of choice for both information and sign-up purposes whilst meeting DEWR biannual targets

* Proven ability to work well within a team environment
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* An understanding of the Australian Apprenticeship system and VET sector (preferred but not essential)
* Willingness to learn and be mentored in a new role
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
* Proven experience in providing high levels of customer service to clients
* Strong computer and administration skills
