This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, **** with possible extension and/or permanency.
East Kalgoorlie Primary School (EKPS) is situated on the eastern fringe of Kalgoorlie-Boulder in Williamstown. 94% of our students are Aboriginal and the school has the lowest ICSEA in the state (648). Our focus is on engaging community and stakeholders to provide strong structures and supports so every child can achieve regardless of location or circumstance.
The Role
The successful applicant will support the principal in leading a school environment that excels in caring for its students and families, building positive relationships and partnerships with students, staff and the broader community. Key responsibilities include:
Promoting, modelling and maintaining high expectations in collaboration with the principal.
Leading evidence-based whole-school approaches in teaching, learning and instruction for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Supporting staff to continually enhance the quality of teaching and learning, resulting in improved outcomes.
Using data analysis to inform a clear strategic direction and focus on academic, social and emotional progress.
Supporting explicit teaching and curriculum and leading a clearly defined lesson design across all phases of learning.
Knowledge of student at risk processes and multi-tiered systems of support is desirable.
