This is a senior role working directly to the JL2 Project Managers or as sole representative within customer project teams undertaking consulting services in a systems engineering role.
The Senior Systems engineers play a lead role in the success of JL2 Group and client organisations undertaking change.

As a technical and business expert this role is concerned with the big picture of a project, in addition to details including cost, schedules, and any workability issues. The Senior Systems Engineer will be a natural collaborator and will be required interact with senior client representatives, program managers and the engineering/development team at every turn, taking the lead in facilitating the achievement of a successful system.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
Definition and maintenance of system requirements.
Development of architectures (logical, reference, business, information and technical) and associated artefacts.
Development of specific technical solutions to various client requirements or the resolution of technical issues.
Definition and development of architecture frameworks, statements of applicability, or System Engineering Management Plans (SEMP).
Co-ordination and execution of design authority forums.
Review and analysis of technical documentation and specifications.
Development of future technology views.
Development of white papers, technical business cases and gap analysis artefacts.
Oversight and guidance to development of implementation teams.
Technical support and guidance to project and program managers. Engage with upper management regularly with reports on project status, activities, and achievements.
Skills and Abilities
Extensive and demonstrated experience with Defence systems or closely related background with strong IS/ICT domain knowledge
Demonstrated experience in delivering outcomes in large Defence acquisition & sustainment environments
Proven ability to meet project milestones
A demonstrable record in working within professional teams
Demonstrated experience in the integration and implementation of complex Defence systems across program and project boundaries
Extensive experience in application design and integration, cloud computing, Defence related systems MOTS, GOTS
Demonstrated experience with various methods and notations such as, UML, BPMN, Gane & Sarson, Agile, Rational.
Sound understanding and experience with contemporary networking and security technology, patterns, practices and implementations.
It is highly desirable for candidates to have experience with the F-35 program.

Delivery of services, products and artefacts to time, budget and quality as per the Project Schedule and JL2 quality assurance processes.

The professional growth and maturity of the Systems Engineering community within JL2
Security Requirements
MUST be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance of Negative Vetting 2.
