Merewether High School (MHS) is an academically selective school located in Newcastle. Our core values of integrity, diversity and excellence underpin a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum focusing on high expectations of student academic achievement. The school caters for 1078 students from a wide geographical area including 23 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
High expectations of all students are maintained, consistent with each student's ability and to ensure students achieve their personal best. Selection Criteria:
Approval to teach Engineering Studies and Industrial Technology
Engineering, Industrial Technology Multimedia/Photography and Design and Technology with a willingness to teach Food Technology and Textiles.
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver innovative, engaging and differentiated teaching and learning programs and assessment for a diverse range of student learning needs including high potential and gifted learners.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive collaborative relationships with an experienced faculty, students, parents, and the wider community.
Willingness and ability to engage students in extra-curricular activities, programs, and competitions.
