The University recognises that achieving this vision is dependent on the people we employ as well as creating a people-centred University that is values-based, relational, diverse, and development-focused.We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer level B, in Psychology and External Relationships Liaison in the School of Psychological Sciences, part of the College of Health and Medicine. Our School is growing the mental health work force for Tasmania. We offer undergraduate degrees in psychological sciences and counselling, and postgraduate degrees in clinical and professional psychology, as well as counselling. The School has expanded our program, making training pathways for psychologists accessible across the state. We are searching for academic, Clinical and/or Educational and Developmental Psychologists, who will join this journey that will provide much needed support for the growing demand on the Tasmanian mental health work force.What you'll do:Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.Work collaboratively with external partners to ensure students on placement are receiving appropriate training experiences (including the required hours of supervision and achievement of competencies)Develop new external relationships to grow the number of opportunities for the Masters Students and psychological services for the Tasmanian community.Collaborate closely between the Director of the University Psychology Clinic, Director of Postgraduate Professional Training Programs and external stakeholders to manage all risks associated.Contribute to the supervision of provisional psychologists as they undertake their placements in the University Psychology Clinic, and/or external placements as required. Supervision would include supervising therapy and/or assessment activities and associated tasks.Undertake high quality scholarly undergraduate (and if relevant postgraduate) coursework teaching in both the face-to-face and online environmentsContribute to curriculum and assessment development and unit coordination in postgraduate (and undergraduate where required) course offerings, for both face-to-face and online models of learning and teaching.Contribute to the collective effort of building a successful collegial culture within the School and University through service and engagement activities within the University, with our communities and through your scientific discipline.What we're looking for:A PhD in Psychology or equivalent (for example, Master of Clinical and/or Educational and Developmental Psychology with practice and supervision experience).Current registration as a Psychologist in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and Clinical and/or Educational and Developmental Psychology Area of Practice Endorsement with no conditions, undertakings or reprimandsCurrent Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor Status (or eligibility to obtain this qualification), with approval to supervise provisional psychologists during an accredited higher degree programAbility to develop and implement skills in scholarly and innovative approaches to University-level teaching and learning in postgraduate Psychology, including blended and online educational approaches.Knowledge of, and ability to apply, Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)accreditation standards to curriculum development and implementationExcellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including organisations external to the University, practicing psychologists, and academic and professional staffA good record of working collaboratively within a team to achieve a common goal and display the ability to work in a manner that aligns with the University's values.Salary detailsAppointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $150,759 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $110,992 to $128,854 plus 17% superannuation.How to ApplyTo apply online, please provide the following supporting documentation:ResumeCover letter outlining your suitability and motivation for the roleYour responses to the Role Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience from the Position Description belowFor further information about this position, please contact Lisa Foa, Head, School of Psychological Sciences, or .Please refer to the attached Position Description Below for full details.To be eligible for this position, you are required to have Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or a current valid visa that allows you to fulfil the requirements of this role.Advertised: 29 May 2025 Tasmania Standard TimeApplications close: 24 Jun 2025 Tasmania Standard Time
