About the Role
You will be working at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. The hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond.
The Hospital Scientist is responsible for providing clinical measurement services to the Sleep Studies Laboratory, Concord Hospital. This includes performing routine sleep polysomnography, home sleep studies, quality control, reporting of results and related administrative duties.
The Hospital Scientist will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to effectively deliver service as will provide role modelling, mentorship and leadership in the achievement of excellence in clinical measurement, practice and research.

Ideal Candidate
* Must Possess a BSc or equivalent (three years full time study equivalent) from an approved University with Human Physiology/Biology strand included.
* Must have sound scientific background with methodology and problem - solving skills.
* Ability and willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on call roster as required.
* Highly developed communication skills to effectively and always politely liaise with patients, visitors and Hospital staff.
* Ability to participate in work related education and research programs.
* Previous experience in the hospital/healthcare environment including working alone and with potentially infectious patients.
* Ability to work as part of a team with Hospital staff or independently as required.
* Sound scientific background with methodology and problem-solving skills.
* Computer literate and ability to manage laboratory IT environments.
