This is a full-time opportunity to lead our Squad program development at a new, state-of-the-art facility in partnership with Bundaberg Regional Council.
The Bundaberg Aquatic Centre is a $90 million, purpose-built venue designed to be a hub of health, inclusion and community spirit.Get Ready To Lead a State-of-the-art Facility Featuring:A covered, FINA-standard 10-lane 50m heated poolAn indoor 8-lane 25m heated poolA dedicated indoor heated program pool for learn-to-swim and wellness programsAll pools are designed with equitable access in mind to ensure inclusivity for all.The RoleThe Head Swimming Squad Coach will assist in the development and progression of our successful Squad program.
You will develop training plans that show progression for swimmers through the levels and effectively lead the team of instructors to develop the program and pathway from the Swimming and Water Safety program.About YouYou enjoy swimming, love working with children through to adult athletes and want to teach the skills and attributes of competitive swimming and water safety to others.
You will communicate and interact effectively with students of a diverse range of ages, abilities and needs, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the capacity to deliver the following essential skills:Effectively lead a team to develop the program and pathway to achieve the outcomesActively promote the squad program and participation in the affiliated Swimming ClubEnsure you are adequately qualified for the program you are delivering and that all squad activities are conducted in a safe environment as per company guidelinesMonitor progression of swimmers through the squad program and work with the Swimming and Water Safety program to identify talented swimmersEncourage participation in and conduct of all swimming competitions in a safe mannerYou may be required to work mornings, evenings and weekends and attend competitions throughout the year and must be empathetic to the needs of the swimming and water safety program and other user groups in the facility.Essential QualificationsTeacher of Competitive Swimming / Competitive StrokesBronze level Qualification – PreferredCurrent First Aid CertificateCurrent CPR CertificateValid Working with Children CheckNational Police CheckPrevious experience and success in a comparable roleExcellent verbal communication skillsThe CompanyBelgravia Leisure is part of the Belgravia Health and Leisure Group (BHLG) and is the fastest growing leisure organisation in Australia.
