Position Overview
The Team Leader (Painting & Decorating) is responsible for organising, coordinating, and overseeing residential painting projects from start to finish. This role involves managing a small crew, ensuring all preparation and painting works are completed to BN Painting's high standards, maintaining site safety, communicating with clients, and delivering high-quality finishes across all stages of each project.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
* Plan and organise daily tasks for residential painting projects from commencement to completion.
* Conduct site assessments and ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are prepared and available.
* Allocate work to crew members efficiently to meet project deadlines.
* Ensure all surfaces are prepared correctly using BN Painting's standards (sanding, gap filling, spot priming, repairs, masking, etc.).
* Track job progress, identify delays or risks, and implement solutions.
Team Leadership
* Lead, supervise, and motivate a crew of painters and trade assistants.
* Provide on-site training, guidance, and support where needed.
* Ensure all team members follow correct painting techniques and preparation methods.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and productive worksite.
Quality Control & Workmanship
* Ensure all preparation and painting works are completed to a premium standard, including:
* Surface preparation
* Undercoating
* Application of topcoats
* Spray and brush/roller finishes
* Review completed works daily using glancing light techniques to identify imperfections.
* Ensure materials used meet BN Painting's product standards (Dulux, Berger, Intergrain, etc.).
* Conduct final inspections to guarantee the finished job meets quality expectations and warranty requirements.
Client Communication
* Maintain professional communication with homeowners throughout the project.
* Provide daily updates on progress and timelines.
* Address client questions, concerns, or variations politely and promptly.
* Represent BN Painting professionally on every jobsite.
