MacKillop Catholic College, a master-planned Prep to Year 12 College located in the growing southern corridor of Cairns, was established in 2016 with Prep-Year 3 classes. About the Role
The Food Technology Assistant role is to provide technical and logistical support to the Food Technology Department and will perform a combination of duties across the Secondary College.
This will include (but not limited to) maintaining a clean and organised Prep Room and Cooking Classroom, the preparation and purchasing ingredients, equipment, preparing and clearing away ingredients and equipment for practical classes, supporting teachers in practical classes and helping to monitor the facilities and equipment usage from a Work Health and Safety point of view.
It also entails the providing of materials and other resources during a class that would normally take the teacher away from the teaching task at hand.
Experience working in an appropriate industry or trade or school in the Food Technology Department will be highly regarded.
An employee in this position may have limited responsibility for guidance of the work of others. Peer assistance may be provided to others. Team co-ordination may be required.
