Technical Specialist - Construction
We are seeking a skilled Technical Specialist for Construction Transmission Lines to ensure a high-quality transmission network is constructed for AusNet Services.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Design Partners, and Delivery Partners, monitoring Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSE&Q) at the worksite throughout various projects.
This role requires strong experience in linework, with a background in construction, transmission lines, or similar infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working outdoors, understand the physical demands of the job, and know what it takes to get the job done safely and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities:
* Review business cases and conduct technical tender reviews for delivery partners
* Provide design input for constructability and timelines
* Perform preconstruction site reviews and inspections, including documenting the work area for scope input
* Ensure quality aligns with the design and Station Design Manual (SDM)
* Verify that the delivery partner complies with site access and security requirements
* Advise the delivery partner on site setup and installation, following Work Safe guidelines and the SDM
Requirements:
* Experience in Transmission Primary Construction
* Ability to meet deadlines and know when to escalate issues
* Skilled in prioritising and planning tasks
* Proactive and able to work independently
* Dedicated to the safety of both the community and employees involved in providing services
