About the role/duties
Key responsibilities include:
* Prepare detailed BOQs, estimates, proposals and cost plans for custom homes and major renovations
* Work closely with architects and designers throughout the design phase providing real-time cost planning and budgeting advice
* Lead value engineering discussions to ensure projects align with both design intent and client budgets
* Provide construction methodology, buildability and feasibility advice throughout the pre-construction process
* Develop scopes of works, procurement schedules, contract documentation and pre-construction deliverables
* Manage the transition from pre-construction to construction, acting as a key point of contact for clients
* Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive and reliable pricing
* Review drawings, specifications and documentation to ensure accurate pricing and project planning
* Contribute to the ongoing improvement of estimating systems, processes and documentation standards
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience estimating high-end residential projects within the custom homes sector
* Strong understanding of construction methodology, trade sequencing and residential construction practices
* Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and detailed documentation
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients, architects, designers and subcontractors
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify practical and cost-effective solutions
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience using estimating software and construction management systems
* Previous carpentry or site-based construction experience highly regarded
* Detail-oriented, proactive and committed to delivering exceptional outcomes

Salary
$150k - $180k + Super (dependent on experience)
