Primary objective
The Homelessness Program Support Officer assists the Homelessness Programs division with implementation and management of
grant programs across the Northern Territory. The role delivers client focused project and program support including grant and
contract administration, relationship management, financial management and record management.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high-level administrative support for a broad range of activities including program development, review and analysis of
reporting and acquittal submissions, business reporting, workflow and calendar management, payment processing, meeting and
travel arrangements.
2. Research and prepare program documentation including program guidelines, agreements, memorandums, external
communications and assist with the preparation of ministerial correspondence.
3. Maintain and manage systems and processes to track projects, contract requirements, reporting schedules, program budgets
and grant funding and assist with the preparation of advice on the status, implementation and evaluation of programs.
4. Manage and support quality control procedures including administration and data management of the Specialist Homelessness
Services Collection (SHSC), program agreements and the national partnership agreement outcomes.
5. Provide subject matter expert support and training for all systems, including; data collection, records management, financial,
business reporting, procurement and grant management.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High degree of organisational, time-management, administration, and records management skills, with excellent attention to
detail and demonstrated responsiveness and agility in dealing with multiple projects and deadlines.
2. Demonstrated or ability to acquire knowledge of the procurement lifecycle, grants processes and contract management
practices.
3. Demonstrated Microsoft Excel skills, analytical skills, including ability to collate quantitative data, trends, and projections.
4. Demonstrated high level of information technology skills including proficiency in a range of systems, workflow management
tools, business reporting portals and office software packages, with a commitment to maintaining systems and data integrity.
5. Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication and report writing skills, with the ability to research and prepare
accurate and concise reports, while maintaining quality control and document flow.
6. Proven ability to work independently, as part of a client and service user focused team, including the ability to communicate,
liaise and interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and people from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Qualifications in project management, contract management, business administration or similar.
2. Hold a valid Northern Territory Driver’s licence.
