We are looking for a Head Chef to manage the smooth operation of the commercial kitchen and dining service. The dining experience of our residents is a significant part of the Inspirit model of care. You will have direct reports of Sous Chef and Hospitality Assistants so previous leadership experience within a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care is preferred. This role reports to the Hospitality Manager. This is a fabulous opportunity to work in a beautiful new home with 102 residents.
The key focus areas of the role are
* Planning and preparation of fresh and nutritious meals for residents in line with their dietary needs and wants
* Managing all resources within the kitchen including equipment and food supplies within a budget
* Maintaining a hygienically clean kitchen that is fully compliant with the aged care quality standards
* Consulting with residents on menu design and meal times
* Preparation of texture modified diets and supplements
* Ensuring all meals are visually well presented
* Collaboration with Concierge to provide food for special events
To be successful in this role you’ll need
* A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
* Strong customer-centric approach and relationship building skills
* Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
* Demonstrated leadership experience
* Ability to build relationships with older people
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety
* Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is preferred
* Competent using computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
