CSA Mine is currently searching for a Safety Advisor to join our team.
You will work in one of the world's most iconic mining districts, which has the second highest grade copper mine in the country.
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Emergency Superintendent, you will be responsible for offering leadership, coaching, and compliance advice on operational safety and risk processes.
You will be a driving force in upholding our already exceptional safety culture, leading & encouraging our staff to participate in all facets of safety initiatives.
This is certainly not a desk-bound job; we need someone who will actively engage with our workforce, connecting with employees at all levels to drive positive change in our safety culture.
About the Role
Drive the development and implementation of pragmatic and productive safety initiatives in consultation with site leadership and management teams
Conduct incident investigations and risk assessments as required
Monitor compliance of safety systems and procedures through auditing, inspections and observations
Keep up to date with legislative changes and recommend actions to ensure compliance is maintained
Analyse safety performance and drive a safety culture by developing frontline leaders in safety
Coach supervisors, operators and safety personnel in the application of safety systems & procedures
Leading by example, setting clear expectations, reviewing work regularly and providing meaningful feedback
About You
Strong foundation in risk assessment, hazard identification and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication skills and an unwavering commitment to fostering a safety-first culture within our business
Certificate IV WHS or equivalent
Current Australian Manual Drivers Licence
Experience in industrial / mining safety environment (desirable)
Underground mining experience (desirable)
ICAM certification and experience
Working knowledge of WHS legislation
Exceptional time management and computer skills
Conditions
Drive-in drive-out (DIDO) or fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) from Sydney or Brisbane (direct charter) on a 8/6 roster.
Candidates interested in DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp.
