Job Description
Paspaley Pearling Company is seeking a reliable, creative and experienced Cook to join our dynamic team. You would be expected to reside in Darwin, Australia and work on a FIFO basis. The rosters may vary depending on locations therefore flexibility is essential.
Remuneration: $90,000 – $95,000 per year Full Time Employment
Key Responsibilities
Removal of and tidy up of serving equipment from buffet area after each meal.
End of day cleanup of all areas in galley and pantry including wash down of floors.
Continually maintain a clean and tidy environment in regard to pantry, refrigerators, chillers and freezers, stove/oven areas etc.
Inspect and select ingredients for cooking.
Measure, clean, chop, blend, season, heat and cool food.
Monitor food cooking processes to ensure proper cooking and presentation.
All orders for food stores and equipment to be approved by skipper/manager.
Liaise with the skipper/manager to promote a healthy balanced diet for all onboard.
Qualifications
Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III or higher.
Experience & Skills
At least two years relevant full-time work experience.
Proficiency in various cooking methods and techniques is essential.
The ability to stand for long periods and work in high-temperature conditions.
A calm demeanor is needed to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Ability to work as a team and solve problems.
