SAG Workforce is currently recruiting on behalf of a leader in the transport sector across South East Queensland. With positions spanning across Queensland we are looking for a Service Maintenance Manager to fill a critical role at a rail maintenance facility in Brisbane West Region, supporting a major fleet servicing program. You’ll apply your electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure vehicles are secure, reliable and fit for service across a rigorous operational environment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct fault diagnosis, identification and rectification of both electrical and mechanical systems on fleet vehicles.
- Perform damage and vandalism repairs, capture data accurately and use the maintenance management system for job logging.
- Liaise with technical specialists and operational stakeholders to ensure repairs occur with minimal impact to fleet performance.
- Assist in vehicle modification and upgrade programs to improve reliability and maintainability.
- Perform post-work testing and validation, and update the maintenance management system with all completed work.
About you
- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) for mechanical roles, OR Certificate III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent) with a current QLD Electrical Licence (for electrical roles).
- Proven experience servicing and repairing electrical/mechanical systems in a heavy-duty or rail environment (preferred, but not essential—what matters most is your attitude and willingness to learn).
- Ability to participate in a rotating shift roster and work autonomously under pressure.
- A team-player mindset, with a collaborative attitude and good communication skills.
