Lead
with a strong
software development background
to lead the design and delivery of modern digital platforms.
This role suits someone who has progressed from hands-on development into
technical leadership and architecture
, and who enjoys working closely with delivery teams while remaining technically credible.
The Role
As Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for
technical direction, solution design, and engineering leadership
across multiple squad teams. You will work closely with architects, product owners, and client stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and user-focused digital solutions.
Responsibilities
* Leading and mentoring cross-functional engineering squads
* Owning technical architecture and solution design for digital platforms
* Providing hands-on technical leadership across build and delivery
* Shaping and enforcing engineering best practices, standards, and patterns
* Collaborating with client stakeholders within a consulting and government environment
* Supporting delivery across discovery, build, and ongoing platform evolution
Essential Skills & Experience
* 10-14 years' experience in technology or digital consulting
* 3-5+ years in solution architecture, technical leadership, or senior engineering roles
* Strong development or engineering background
* Experience with modern front-end frameworks, React or similar)
* Cloud and enterprise platform exposure (Azure, Microsoft Dynamics 365)
* API-led and event-driven architectures (APIM, integrations, event flows)
* Experience designing multi-system, composable digital solutions
* Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
* Solid understanding of Agile, SDLC, and DevOps practices
* Australian citizenship required
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Headless CMS experience (e.g. Sitecore, GraphQL-based platforms)
* Large-scale digital transformation or modernisation programs
* Consulting or client-facing solution design roles
* Public sector or enterprise delivery experience
* Existing security clearance or willingness to undergo vetting
* Architecture or cloud certifications (TOGAF, Azure, Dynamics, etc.)
