About the role
This role forms part of the Policy and Truth Telling team that focuses on coordinating and delivering projects that recognize and embed Aboriginal culture, history and knowledge across Water Corporation assets, sites and operations. The team works collaboratively with internal and external Aboriginal stakeholders, transforming ideas and concepts into deliverable projects that uplift cultural awareness, build cultural competency and recognize the importance of Country and Aboriginal Culture.
As Specialist – Policy ASR you will coordinate strategic policy development and the provision of high quality, timely advice on Water Corporation, State and Commonwealth policy and priorities. Provide high level policy development support and advice and undertake complex research and analysis in relation to the development, coordination, implementation, and review for Aboriginal Strategy and Reconciliation.

What the role will involve
You'll be the driving force behind developing innovative policies, strategies, and frameworks while delivering expert, high‐level advice to senior leaders, executives, and government.
In this role, you will lead research and evidence based policy analysis, prepare Ministerial briefings and high‐impact reports, and support programs aligned with Reconciliation Action Plans (RAP) and broader strategic priorities.
You will also build and maintain strong partnerships across government, industry, and community to drive meaningful outcomes.
About you
* Degree level qualification in relevant field
* Substantial knowledge and experience in the development and evaluation of government policy and programs
* Considerable experience and knowledge in providing strategic policy advice
* Considerable experience in internal and external stakeholder engagement and solution brokering
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including preparation of complex reports and briefing papers
* Advanced knowledge of issues experienced by Aboriginal people and communities in Western Australia
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of past and current policies and legislations impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
