Aboriginal Liaison Officer Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide culturally safe support tailored to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Deliver culturally sensitive services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities.
* Foster effective relationships between clients, families, and service providers.
* Connect clients with relevant health and other support services based on their unique needs.
* Develop and manage personalized support plans and referrals.
* Advocate for culturally responsive service delivery practices.
* Promote cultural identity and resilience through community engagement initiatives.
* Facilitate access to cultural programs and group activities that enhance well-being.
* Engage with Elders and community leaders to inform support strategies and build strong relationships.
* Support crisis intervention and de-escalation when required.
Essential Qualifications
* 50D Aboriginal identified role: Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
* Proven experience in Aboriginal outreach is essential, with mental health experience highly regarded.
* Certificate IV in Mental Health is highly valued but not mandatory; a traineeship may be available.
