This is for a Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time or Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time appointment.

In this pivotal role, you will ensure the provision and high standards of medical imaging services, effectively managing staff and resources to meet the needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise the daily operations of medical imaging services, ensuring seamless service delivery 24/7.
* Manage staff rostering and oversee training and professional development initiatives to enhance team performance.
* Collaborate with the Regional Chief Medical Imaging Technologist to contribute to departmental planning and strategic direction.
* Lead the development and evaluation of quality improvement and assurance programs to maintain compliance with national standards.
* Act as the Radiation Safety Officer, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with safety standards.
* Participate in recruiting, selecting, and managing performance programs for imaging personnel to foster a high-quality service culture.

Ideal Candidate

* Must holds a tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging and is eligible for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
* Extensive and comprehensive knowledge and advanced skills in specialised imaging modalities.
* Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team and highly developed negotiation and communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Knowledge of quality systems and radiology accreditation.
* Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Work Health and Safety and how these impact on employment, people management and service delivery.
* Evidence of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence or other specialised licence class

The following penalty rates are also applicable for Geraldton Imaging department.

Penalty rates

* Double time – Sunday rate, missed 10-hour break and Majority of Saturday shifts
* 5 times between 0800-1200 on Saturdays
* Double time and a half – Public Holidays
* Afternoon shift – 15% Loading

On Call

* Hourly allowance of $8.36 per hour
* 3 hours of pay for recall paid at the penalty for the time period (usually double time)
* If recalled twice within 3 hours, 3 hours restarts from recall time.

* Lead gown allowance
* District Allowance
* Professional Development allowance

Leave - On top of standard leave entitlements MITs at Geraldton are eligible for:

* Professional development leave
* Additional leave for shift workers
