At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

* Temporary Full-Time employment until 30th June 2028

* Located in Parramatta, with flexible work options and access to regional offices. Office attendance is required up to 50%, which can be completed at your nearest departmental site

* Salary ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

Manager, Psychology Services sits within the Child Wellbeing and Mental Health Services (CWMHS) who focuses on the delivery of student support services including support for students in the areas of child protection, disability, mental health and wellbeing, complex needs, as well as behaviour and attendance.

* Lead policy and practice for the school counselling service

* Provide high-level advice on professional standards and wellbeing programs

* Drive research to improve psychological services in NSW public schools

* Build partnerships and work with stakeholders to enhance service delivery

* Support professional development, induction, and evidence-based interventions for students

About you

* Experienced in leading policy, research and evidence-based practice in psychology services

* Skilled in building partnerships, influencing stakeholders and driving wellbeing initiatives

* Strong communicator able to provide high-level advice and support professional capability across teams

* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

* Current full registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia

* Working with Children Check for paid employment

* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

* Describe your experience supervising provisional psychologists, registered psychologists or (where relevant) Area of Practice Endorsement (AoPE) registrars.

* AHPRA updated the Code of Conduct for Psychologists in December 2025. Describe how you have incorporated the changes into your practice, supervision, 'supervision of supervision' or in providing strategic advice to key stakeholders.
