As our client's next Bookkeeper, you'll be the financial right hand for a diverse roster of small and medium enterprises. Your accuracy, proactive mindset and client-first approach will empower business owners to focus on strategic growth, knowing their day-to-day accounting is in expert hands.
What You'll Own
* Client Liaison & Support
* Act as the primary point of contact for an allocated portfolio via phone, email and virtual meetings
* Anticipate ad hoc admin requests-data entry, document management or ad hoc reporting-to lighten clients' workloads
* Collaborate with internal advisors to propose process improvements or accounting system enhancements
* Payroll Processing
* Administer end-to-end payroll (weekly/fortnightly/monthly) for varied industries
* Calculate gross/net wages, allowances, deductions and leave accruals
* Prepare and lodge superannuation payments on time, ensuring full ATO compliance
* Complete Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and manage year-end finalisations
* Accounts Payable & Receivable
* Generate, code and process supplier invoices; match purchase orders; schedule and execute payments
* Issue client invoices, chase aged debt with professionalism and maintain an accurate ageing report
* Reconcile supplier and customer statements, investigate variances and resolve discrepancies
* Bank Reconciliations & Cashflow Management
* Reconcile multiple bank, credit card and loan accounts on a daily/weekly schedule
* Build and maintain cashflow forecasts, flagging shortfalls or surpluses to clients proactively
* Process electronic bank payments, direct debits and transfers per client instructions
* System Setup & Upgrades
* Onboard new clients or transition existing ones into Reckon, MYOB, Xero (incl. Practice Manager) or QuickBooks
* Migrate legacy data, configure chart of accounts, customise bank feeds and user permissions
* Provide client training on best practice workflows and troubleshoot software queries
* General Bookkeeping & Administration
* Prepare regular P&L statements, balance sheets and KPI dashboards
* Assist with BAS lodgements, fixed-asset registers and budget vs. actual analyses
* Draft client correspondence, internal process guides and meeting summaries
What You Bring
* Minimum 3 years' hands-on bookkeeping in a practice or in-house environment
* Cert IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting (or equivalent) highly regarded
* Systems > XERO including Practice Manager > Intuit QuickBooks > Adobe Acrobat > Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to SharePoint, one drive, teams, excel, word, power point, outlook > MAC OS (experience not necessary)
* Exceptional attention to detail, strong time-management and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
* Outstanding verbal and written communication; a client-first attitude and a polished professional presence
