We are currently seeking an experienced
**_Welding Supervisor_** to join our Bennett's Green workshop on a permanent basis.
- This role has the responsibility to actively promote and implement the UGL Engineering Management System in compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards for Quality whilst providing instruction for all welding personnel, and the coordination and evaluation of job performance.
- Other roles and responsibilities include:

- Ensure that the company's Quality objectives and goals are met in their area by providing competent advice and support to line management in a timely manner.
- Promote and implement quality conscious culture in the organisation.
- Identify and raise non-conformances as it arises and recommend corrective action and closing out in conjunction with Line Manager's recommendation.
- Assist Line Managers in the investigation of all NCR's and quality incidents, ensuring that suitable corrective and preventative actions are developed; and these actions are tracked to completion by the responsible person.
- Lead the development of safe systems of work, including hazard identification, assessment of the risks posed, the development of suitable and sufficient control measures, the evaluation of the effect of those control measures and the implementation, monitor and review of the resultant safe system of work developed.
- Have sound knowledge of welding and base materials. including welding metallurgy, weldability characteristics, welding filler metal types, material testing, and specifications.
- Monitoring and knowledge of safety measures. It includes maintenance of safety-related functions, training, and coordination, instructing personnel.
- Welding inspections to ensure all the welding activities are performed as per the requirements before the evaluation of inspection that is conducted by qualified inspection personnel.
- Keeping work records and traceability documentation, reviews, and inspection results.
- Coordinate and book NDT requirements with external NDT company.
- Raise NDT request and review NDT reports prior to compiling into MDF.
- Renew, update and qualify welders to AS Standards.
- Update, write and qualify WPS/PQR to AS Standards.
- Be able to assist with welding productivities by ensuring accurate fit-ups, proper use of welders, proper weld sizing, effective weld station design, and elimination of rework.
- Interpret welding symbols and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of welder and welding safety standards.
- Project management methodology.
- Have both verbal and written strong communication skills
- Have a welding experience in structural welding to AS/NZS 1554.1 and AS D1.1
- Possess time management and organization skills
- Possessing knowledge of welding and different metal types
- To be successful you will require:

- Trade certificate or Diploma or Degree in Engineering.
- Welding Supervisor to AS2214 or AS1796 Certificate 10.
- Interpret welding symbols and technical drawings. Knowledge of welder and welding safety standards.
- Possessing knowledge of welding and different metal types
- Basic knowledge of AS 4801
- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Have both verbal and written strong communication skills
