About AdvanCell
AdvanCell is a clinical stage radiopharmaceutical company developing an innovative pipeline of 212Pb-based Targeted Alpha Therapies for cancer patients. AdvanCell's platform technology addresses the most significant challenge in Targeted Alpha Therapy – the reliable and scalable supply of isotope. AdvanCell's novel drug discovery, preclinical processes, and state-of-the-art facilities leverage daily access to 212Pb, the ideal isotope for Targeted Alpha Therapy.
Why Join Us?
* Engineer mission-critical systems – Design and build the mechanical equipment that powers our radionuclide manufacturing platform.
* Shape life-saving technology – Your work will directly enable safe, precise, and reliable production of next-generation targeted alpha therapies.
* Own the full build cycle – From concept to prototype to validated system, your engineering will directly influence clinical outcomes and patient impact.
* Grow with a scaling biotech – Be part of an agile, high-performance team where your designs translate into real-world results.
What You'll Do
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll:
* Design and develop innovative mechanical systems from concept through detailed design that meet functional, performance, and safety requirements.
* Architect integrated electromechanical solutions by collaborating with electrical and controls engineers to ensure seamless interaction between mechanical, electrical, and software components.
* Prototype and build mechanical systems, bringing ideas to life through iterative testing and refinement.
* Apply engineering principles (e.g. tolerance analysis, materials selection, design for manufacture, design for assembly) to ensure system performance in demanding environments.
* Drive continuous improvement by identifying design optimisations, simplifying assemblies, and improving efficiency and serviceability.
* Ensure design integrity through proper documentation, BOM management, configuration management, and adherence to standards and safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a motivated, organised and collaborative individual with:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing engineering or related field.
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools (preferably SolidWorks) for detailed part and assembly design.
* Solid understanding of GD&T, and mechanical drafting standards, e.g. ASME Y14.5M, ASME Y14.100.
* Experience applying tolerance analysis, DFM, DFA, and DFMEA principles.
* Experience working with and maintaining Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
* Working knowledge of materials selection, machining, sheet metal, plastic injection moulding, and other standard manufacturing processes.
* Proven ability to prototype, assemble, and test mechanical systems.
* Familiarity with system integration involving electromechanical components.
* Experience in regulated or high-precision industries (such as pharmaceutical, laboratory automation, or medical devices) is a plus.
What We Offer
* Full-time, permanent position in a high growth startup.
* Attractive salary package.
* Career development in Australia's thriving biotech sector, based in Brisbane's innovation hub.
* The opportunity to directly impact the future of cancer therapy.
