Inventory Controller – Mining & Heavy Industry (Wacol, QLD)We are currently seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to join a leading organisation in the mining and heavy industry sector.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, parts, and consumables to support production and maintenance activities across workshop operations.This is a Monday–Friday position based in Wacol, offering flexibility with a 5:00am or 6:00am start.
The role is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, with excellent hourly rates of $45–$48 p/h depending on experience.Key ResponsibilitiesManage site-based materials, consumables, PPE, and inventory levels to meet operational needs.Parts receiving, booking, storage, and issuing through ERP systems (SAP/Oracle experience highly regarded)Coordinate goods in/out processes, including subcontractor items.Conduct stocktakes and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.Support technicians with parts preparation and billable tasks to meet production deadlines.Operate forklift and overhead crane to move parts, materials, and equipment safely.Manage calibration schedules for equipment and maintain chemical register compliance.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prevent stock outs and reduce excess inventory.Provide timely reporting on material availability, shortages, and consumption.Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and workplace policies.Skills & ExperienceCurrent LF Forklift Licence – essentialExperience with overhead crane operations 5+ years' experience in inventory control, materials management or procurement within a heavy industrial/mining/fabrication environmentStrong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred)Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Proven experience in stock control, forecasting, and supplier/subcontractor management.Strong communication and stakeholder management skillsKnowledge of LEAN principles or Six Sigma advantageousWhat's on OfferTemp-to-perm opportunity with a well-regarded employer in the mining sector$45–$48 p/hDay shift Monday–Friday with flexible start times (5am or 6am)Secure Wacol location with free onsite parkingSupportive team environment with long-term career potential Apply NowIf you have the required skills and are looking for your next long-term opportunity, apply today and Agnes will be in touch to discuss the role further.
