Our new Coordinator Natural Resources and Cemeteries will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Council's natural resource management, biosecurity programs and cemetery services across the Local Government Area. The role oversees regulatory compliance, asset management, cemetery operations and arboriculture services while supporting strategic planning initiatives. It also involves working closely with internal teams, regulatory bodies, funeral industry partners and the community to ensure high‑quality, compliant and compassionate service delivery.
You'll Work With a Great Team To
Lead strategic planning and implementation of Biosecurity Action Plans, Cemetery Master Plans and related feasibility studies.
Oversee biosecurity programs, weed regulation, enforcement and advisory services in line with NSW legislation and Council policy.
Manage cemetery operations including maintenance, interments, grave preparation and liaison with funeral directors and monument businesses.
Coordinate arboriculture and horticultural services, including tree maintenance, pruning programs and natural area management in accordance with Australian Standards.
Lead and support the Natural Resources and Cemeteries team, ensuring effective service delivery, communication and performance monitoring.
What You'll Bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
Bachelor degree in Open Space Management, Landscape Architecture, Natural Resource Management, or related discipline or extensive demonstrated experience in open space or natural resource management in lieu of formal qualifications.
Extensive experience in natural resource management, environmental compliance, or cemetery management.
Highly developed communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse community groups, regulatory bodies, funeral industry representatives and internal teams.
Demonstrated ability and experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams in achieving effective community outcomes.
Comprehensive experience in regulatory compliance, particularly biosecurity legislation or cemetery regulations, with demonstrated ability to interpret and implement legislative requirements.
Demonstrated experience working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and deliver complex projects within regulatory frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in the administration of the Biosecurity Act 2015 or related natural resource legislation and regulatory compliance.
We Would Also Love You To Have
Experience in cemetery management, funeral industry liaison, or bereavement services.

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $104,751 to $132,086 (pending qualifications). A leaseback vehicle is also available.
