Job Description:
This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to lead the Nursing team in a challenging yet rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering direct and comprehensive nursing care to residents, including nursing assessment and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Nursing team.
* Mentor and develop a small team of Enrolled Nurses.
* Attend GP appointments with clients and ensure clients understand their health needs.
* Liaise with GP pre/post admission and allied health professionals as required.
* Conduct nursing risk assessments and monitor conditions throughout the residents' stay.
* Maintain comprehensive client documentation and case notes.
* Evaluate responses to treatment and report any new information or changes in condition.
* Contribute to client individual treatment and recovery plans.
* Support clients to manage emotional difficulties and teach coping strategies.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience working within the alcohol and drug sector, mental health or primary health care environment.
* Experience conducting drug and alcohol withdrawal and physical assessments.
* Knowledge of contemporary standards and evidence-based practice in AOD context.
* Excellent people management skills and ability to provide clinical supervision.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively to diverse groups.
* Bachelor's degree in nursing and current registration as Registered Nurse (Division 1) within AHPRA.
* Certificate IV in AOD or willingness to complete an AOD Skillset.
