The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of ARRC's multi‐site recycling and resource recovery facilities. These roles are central to lifting operational performance and ensuring plant, people and processes are aligned to deliver high quality services that support ARRC's long term operational goals.
You will oversee daily operations, monitor performance and support defect resolution in partnership with engineering and maintenance teams as well as assisting in the planning for future project sites. You will use data, reporting tools and operational insights to strengthen service outcomes and maintain compliance across all activities.
This role suits a practical leader who can coordinate complex operational environments and guide a multi‐disciplinary team. You will maintain strong relationships with City representatives, contractors, regulators and internal teams and help shape consistent operating practices and capability development across the operations team.
ARRC Gold Coast is recruiting Operations Manager across two operational streams. Candidates may be considered based on experience aligned to either an Organics and commercial focus, or a Logistics and transfer station operations focus. All candidates will be assessed against the same core requirements, with stream specific experience considered.
Your Key Responsibilities – Make Your Mark
Deliver safe daily operations across multiple sites and sustain a proactive safety culture.
Manage budget and portfolio performance. Monitor cost, efficiency and service levels against targets.
Develop, own and maintain the Business Plans, aligned to ARRC Gold Coast's group strategy and shareholder objectives.
Use operational data and dashboards to track availability, utilisation and efficiency. Act on trends and issues.
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements. Support audits, inspections and statutory reporting.
Support commissioning, operational readiness and transition to operations for new or upgraded assets.
Help to develop innovative processes and equipment to deliver superior outcomes.
Build capability in the operations teams. Set clear standards and mentor staff and partners.
Required and essential experience
Leadership experience in operations management.
Background in organics, waste, recycling, resource recovery, logistics or related services is essential.
Experience coordinating complex multi‐site operations.
Strong financial acumen with budget control and P&L oversight.
Proven use of data and reporting tools to support decisions and improve results.
Business and or project development experience.
Track record working within safety, environmental and regulatory frameworks.
Skills and Attributes

Ability to manage competing priorities across sites and functions.
Commitment to safe operations, compliance and continuous improvement.
Capability to mentor and develop team members and partners.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as business administration, finance, asset management, or environmental management (e.g. MBA or equivalent) or equivalent experience preferred. Vocational, trade or tertiary study in operations, engineering or project management is highly regarded.
