This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. The Role

Join an enthusiastic, collaborative HPE team at KBCHS, with the opportunity to teach to your passions.Our programs include Outdoor Education, Sport Science, and Sport Development classes in AFL, Basketball, Netball, and Soccer, providing staff with the opportunity to teach across a variety of engaging courses.

Staff have the opportunity to lead camps and attend major events such as Country Week District High School (DHS). In 2025, KBCHS had the largest representation at Country Week DHS and celebrated incredible success as A-Grade premiers in Futsal, Volleyball, Hockey and Netball.Working at KBCHS offers valuable experience in leading camps and sporting events, and the chance to be part of an enthusiastic team.

The successful applicant will ideally show the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school HPE curriculum. As part of this role, you will engage and build productive working relationships with students and be involved collaboratively with your colleagues to improve student results. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum would be ideal.

The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning plans. The ideal applicant should provide excellence in creating and maintaining a supportive and safe learning environment and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. As a reflective practitioner, you should ideally possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify your practice to meet identified student needs.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High Schoolin 2026 are eligible to receive a temporaryAttraction and Retention Incentive of $4 000(pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south westteachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South WestEducation Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
