About the role
The Faculty of Law is currently recruiting for a Senior Lecture (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D) to teach in our undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programs and to act as Director of our Professional Programs for the first three years of your appointment.
In that role, you will;
* Provide high quality teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programs as required, on weekdays, evenings, and in block format. This includes core law and elective subjects and, professional programs, as appropriate.
* Leadership in improvement and innovation in teaching and the communication and dissemination of teaching practice within law subjects delivered to law and non-law students.
* Leadership in subject and course development/revision and teaching delivery.
* Significant contribution to innovative curriculum design and to the overall development of teaching and learning strategies.
* Manage collegiate and effective team-work in the design and delivery of teaching programs.
* Leadership in professional development including peer review in higher education teaching and maintain currency in discipline theory and practice.
* Significant participation in outreach activities and University and Faculty engagement roles related to teaching and learning
* Leadership in the overall academic, social and cultural experience of higher education through recognition of particular learning needs and ensure students from demographic subgroups receive adequate support to participate and facilitate success in their courses.
About You
We are looking for applicants with:
* A Doctorate in Law, or equivalent industry or professional experience.
* A Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor
* Extensive knowledge of the law discipline, especially in relation to the Faculty undergraduate and postgraduate programs and specifically the professional programs.
* Thorough command of the principles and practice of effective teaching and learning.
* Comprehensive knowledge of professional and legal practice issues
* Knowledge of, and commitment to, equal opportunity principles and their implementation.
* Awareness of key issues in contemporary higher education as relevant to the Faculty and the law discipline
What will you teach?
As the Director of our professional programs you will be expected to teach into that program as well as contribute to the law core teaching.
RemunerationBase Salary Range:
$152,245 - $201,165 per annum (Level C/D)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
The position is full-time and will be made on a continuing basis.
