Business Development Manager – Scientific Recruitment

Evolve Scientific Recruitment is hiring a Business Development Manager based in Sydney, off the back of continued success & growth! You will be growing and nurturing client partnerships across the scientific, pharmaceutical, and technical industries.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Client Partnerships: Develop and manage strong, long-term relationships with clients across the scientific and technical industries, ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations.
* Strategic Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, expand key accounts, and pitch tailored recruitment solutions that solve real-world workforce challenges in pharma, biotech, FMCG, environmental sciences, and beyond.
* Industry Expertise: Leverage your scientific background to understand client needs and translate complex technical briefs into effective recruitment strategies.
* Consultative Sales: Work closely with hiring managers and internal recruitment consultants to deliver end-to-end solutions, ensuring both client and candidate satisfaction.
* Collaboration & Growth: Partner with internal teams to share market insights, contribute to strategic growth plans, and support national expansion initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

* STEM Background: A degree in science or a related technical field, bonus points for experience in a lab, R&D, pharma, food, or environmental sectors.
* Sales/BD Experience: Proven success in business development, account management, or consultative sales, ideally in recruitment or technical services.
* Commercial Acumen: A sharp eye for opportunity and the confidence to build value-driven proposals that convert into long-term partnerships.
* People-First Approach: Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused mindset, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly.
* Resilient & Driven: Motivated, proactive, and not afraid to pick up the phone or walk into a lab to build relationships.
* Team Player: Collaborative and supportive, with a strong sense of initiative and ownership.
