Community Response Officer Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful Community Response Officer to join our team. As a key member of our council, you will be responsible for enforcing animal control, investigating abandoned motor vehicles, enforcing parking regulations, and tackling issues related to footpath obstructions, overgrown land, and litter dumping.
In this role, you will carry out regular patrols to raise awareness of illegal parking behaviour and report any observed issues. You will also work to enforce relevant legislation and regulations to reduce the level of illegal parking in the area.

Key Responsibilities:
* Enforce animal control measures to protect public health and safety
* Investigate abandoned motor vehicles and take necessary actions
* Ensure compliance with parking regulations and policies
* Tackle issues related to footpath obstructions, overgrown land, and litter dumping

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in local government regulatory functions and services
* Knowledge of local government regulatory, environmental, building, development control, certification, and protection of the environment functions and services
* Completion of Local Government Regulatory Services - Certificate IV Course or similar qualification
* Excellent customer service skills
* Able to research, assess, and determine regulatory matters
* Negotiation and problem-solving skills
* Ability to observe details and record information accurately
* Ability to competently handle and control animals
* Ability to exercise delegation of authority and work with minimal supervision
