About Us:
Corrections Victoria is a business unit of the Department of Justice & Community Safety and is responsible for the management of prisons and community correctional services in Victoria.
Tarrengower is a minimum-security prison accommodating up to 72 female offenders and is situated 2 km from Maldon in Central Victoria. Tarrengower's emphasis is on release preparation and community reintegration through the provision of programs within a rehabilitative environment. Tarrengower emphasises the principles of a healthy prison where children can be accommodated with their mothers ensuring the family unit is maintained and developed. Tarrengower Prison is committed to delivering the highest level of Transitional Support to women who are preparing to exit prison and return to the community.
Tarrengower strongly recognises cultural diversity, respecting individual religious, spiritual and cultural beliefs. Tarrengower staff work with the women in a trauma informed manner designed to build Prison staff's capacity to establish effective professional relationships with women and facilitate their engagement in programs and services designed to reduce their risk of reoffending.
About the Role:
The Project and Compliance Coordinator, Tarrengower Prison is responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of a system to monitor, track and audit procedural compliance within the prison. The delivery of this role requires the ability to forecast trends of non- compliance, the development of corrective actions and monitoring completion to mitigate identified risk.
The Project and Compliance Coordinator will monitor, review and report on the risk assessment and management framework for Tarrengower prison. The role is also responsible for the preparation of a wide range of correspondence on behalf of Tarrengower prison, strategic planning processes, statistical data collection and analysis, along with monitoring local performance against set targets.
You may be required to work flexible hours or shift work, including weekends and public holidays, and attend call-outs as required. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with applicable Victorian Public Service Agreement 2024.
About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
* Good understanding of modern business services activities.
* Experience with functions in TRIM, the department's corporate records management system, as a “Local Specialist User”.
* The ability to work with sense of purpose within the team and enable others to understand the strategic direction of the branch and organisation.
* The ability to resolve issues through an understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines.
