A well-established Hobart-based public practice firm is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to take ownership of a client portfolio and provide day-to-day leadership across workflow, client delivery and team support.

The Role
As the Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring high-quality delivery across compliance and business services, while also supporting the team and maintaining workflow oversight.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of clients end-to‐end, acting as a trusted, client‐facing advisor
* Oversee delivery across business services and compliance, including:
o Financial statements and income tax returns
o BAS/GST and general compliance
o Tax planning and advisory support (where required)
* Provide day‐to‐day leadership and technical support to the team:
o Respond to staff queries
o Review work and ensure quality control
o Monitor workflow and job progress to keep deliverables on track
* Coordinate effectively with the offshore team, including regular check‐ins with the offshore team lead
* Liaise with the ATO and external stakeholders as required
* Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client outcomes
