Located only 30 minutes from Newcastle, our Tomago Training Institute is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 50737) delivering nationally accredited training through the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

We're growing—and we're looking for Mobile Plant tradespeople who are ready to take the next step in their career by becoming Technical Trainers and Assessors, whether you're keen to start now or considering a future move.

We currently have a scholarship‐style development opportunity where we'll train, support, and upskill you into a qualified trainer. You'll join a team that delivers high‐quality educational and technical training across WesTrac's apprentice and post‐trade programs.

We are creating a team of skilled and qualified professionals on a casual basis with the ambition to go full time as demand increases. No training or classroom experience? No problem. We'll set you up for success through a structured supervision and development program designed to build your confidence and capability from day one.

Multiple Options Available: Fulltime, Casual or Part time position working with your availability.

Key Responsibilities

* Primary responsibility for the Trade Upgrade, Apprentice Programs or Post Trade training.
* Teach, plan, develop and assess selected units in Mobile Plant.

* Delivering to AQF requirements and workplace safety standards.
* Educating a broad range of employees and external customers without bias.

Skills And Experience

* Qualifications and experience in Mobile Plant or Automotive Electrical with recent industry experience essential.
* At least 5 Years post trade experience.
* Preferred but not essential - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116). We will support with payment and time.
* A team player willing to roll up their sleeves and apply practically what they teach to achieve the common goal with the training team.
* Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, written and verbal with the ability to influence and inspire groups of people with a passion for transferring knowledge and skills.
* Previous heavy machinery experience or exposure to Caterpillar products is desirable.
