Join a growing Tier 3 builder delivering a variety of rail projects and ancillary works across Melbourne’s rail network. As Rail Sector Lead, you’ll oversee a tight-knit team delivering rail-adjacent civil and commercial projects, acting as the primary interface with clients, authorities, and stakeholders. You'll provide leadership, ensure compliance, and drive delivery outcomes across multiple active sites.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end delivery of rail and transport infrastructure projects (typically $1m–$5m in value).
* Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers, Coordinators and Site Supervisors.
* Liaise with VicTrack, MTM, LXRP and other stakeholders to ensure compliant and smooth delivery.
* Monitor program, cost, safety, and quality across multiple projects.
* Ensure all works within or near the rail corridor meet operational and safety standards.
* Assist pre-construction with tendering, resourcing and methodology input.
* Represent the business in authority meetings, audits, and client briefings.
* Promote a culture of collaboration, safety, and accountability across teams.
Requirements:
* Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in commercial or civil construction, with strong exposure to rail projects.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, ideally with experience overseeing multiple project teams.
* Ability to manage stakeholder relationships with government and transport authorities.
* Familiarity with rail safety and live operational environments.
* Trade, diploma, or degree qualifications in Construction, Civil Engineering or related fields.
