Our services have a strong focus on prevention and early intervention and enable access to safe accommodation options, Holistic case management, community outreach programs and programs that teach vital independent living skills. About the role We are seeking a values-driven Youth Worker Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a Casual role, located in Surry Hills, NSW You will successfully • Provide a safe and supportive environment for young people in crisis accommodation, offering informal support while ensuring their wellbeing and safety at all times. • Assist residents in developing independent living skills, while also maintaining shared spaces and contributing to the daily cleaning and upkeep of the refuge. • Conduct comprehensive intake and risk assessments, complete detailed documentation, and maintain accurate records in line with legislative and organisational standards. • Support case management by helping young people attend key appointments related to health, education, housing, finances, and social services. • Work across a 24/7 roster, including overnight active shifts, and contribute to group-based programs such as fitness or cooking to enhance resident engagement and skill development. You will have Tertiary qualification in social sciences, welfare or related field with a degree qualification preferred. Relevant experience in a social service environment. First Aid Certificate A current and valid NSW Working with Children Check. A current NSW Drivers licence. A National Criminal History Check is required.
