About the role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager - Categories, this pivotal role within the procurement team involves acting as a business partner between Procurement and various business areas related to ICT spend categories across Melbourne Water's external spend environment.
The role also involves developing the ICT spend Procurement Strategy pipeline and Category Management Plans to support sourcing initiatives, market insights, and procurement efficiency opportunities.
* Develop and manage strategic category management for ICT categories to identify and maximize procurement efficiencies, value generation, and market insights.
* Contribute to the development and management of the annual and 5-year procurement strategic opportunities plan for ICT categories.
* Collaborate with the Sourcing Delivery and Contract teams to optimize procurement sourcing, contract management, and performance.
* Optimize the supply base through strategies like aggregation, consolidation, bundling, and rationalization, developing category plans and vendor strategies that address business needs and ensure value for money.
* Support education, awareness, and training initiatives related to Procurement and Category Management strategies within the organization.
* Demonstrate strong communication skills with senior stakeholders and vendors.
* Drive strategic outcomes and foster collaboration with peers and management.
* Embed and grow continuous value delivery and procurement efficiency programs.
* Possess extensive experience in a commercial or public sector environment, with knowledge of public sector procurement and VGPB desirable.
* Have experience partnering and delivering ICT categories effectively.
Requirements include a degree in Supply Chain and Logistics or Information Technology or equivalent, with a preferred tertiary qualification in commercial management and MCIPS qualification.
