As a Design Engineer in our Water Infrastructure Programs, you will oversee the planning and delivery of major water projects, ensuring they are aligned with strategic commitments and delivered within scope, time, and budget. You will lead multidisciplinary design and engineering teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive continuous improvement to support sustainable development and community outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and approval processes for large-scale water and dam projects, including surface and groundwater systems.
- Manage design and engineering partners and ensure compliance with design, safety, environmental, and dam-safety standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, cost estimates, risk assessments, and quality plans.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement across internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners.
- Monitor project performance, report progress, and implement improvements to safety, cost, and schedule outcomes.
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture across design, engineering, and project delivery functions.
- Ensure safety, compliance, and sustainability standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive innovative solutions, value engineering, and process efficiencies to optimize water infrastructure delivery.
- Lead governance and reporting for design and construction phases, ensuring alignment with regulatory and utility requirements.
About You
- Proven experience in program planning and project management, particularly for large or complex water infrastructure or dam projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary design and engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, including regulators, contractors, and community representatives.
- A commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
