Job Description
Hunter Valley Operations has a large fleet of Komatsu Electric Drive Trucks and is currently recruiting for Experienced Mechanical Fitters (Plant Mechanics). You will have experience and training with an OEM to maintain the fleet, including servicing, breakdown maintenance and diagnosis, component change‑outs and rebuilds. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, and as an integral member of the Mobile Maintenance team, you will safely and effectively maintain heavy earth‑moving plant equipment to a high standard and meet required targets.
Responsibilities
* Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy mobile equipment, including Komatsu Haul Trucks and Komatsu 1850 Loaders, to ensure operational efficiency and minimise equipment downtime.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, completing repairs in line with OEM specifications and site‑specific procedures.
* Deliver technical maintenance support across the HVO fleet to maintain equipment reliability and performance.
Qualifications
* Relevant Mechanical Trade qualification or equivalent
* Mining Equipment OEM Training and experience
* Experience in maintaining Electric Drive Haul Trucks
* Experience in maintaining Electric Drive Wheel Loaders
* Open Cut Coal Mining experience (desirable)
* Demonstrated exposure to computerised maintenance management systems and knowledge of SAP (desirable)
* Prioritise safe work and follow "No Plan‑No Work" policies and procedures
* Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
* A current and valid manual Australian Driver's licence
* High Risk Work Licences such as Forklift, EWP & Working at Heights will be highly regarded
Roster & Location
Lifestyle roster (12‑hour rotating day/night shifts) – based at HVO North Facility.
