About the Opportunity
At PMHC, every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our Engineering Trade Services team within Utilities Operations. In this role, you'll provide mechanical fitting services across Water, Wastewater and other Council facilities, helping to ensure our infrastructure remains safe, reliable and efficient.
Qualifications
* A Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
* Demonstrated experience in fault‐finding, preventative and corrective maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment and systems within industrial environments
* Demonstrated ability to operate effectively unaccompanied or in a team, contributing positively to team operations, safety and working relationships.
* Developed high level organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
* Developed computer skills using industry related software applications.
* A General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Responsibilities
* Undertake maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and associated plant across Water, Wastewater and other Council assets
* Installation and commissioning of mechanical projects and system upgrades in line with industry standards, Council requirements, budgets and timelines
* Perform fault finding and diagnosis of equipment failures within mechanical infrastructure
* Provide technical support and advice for the operation, maintenance and repair of pumps, valves, pipework and associated mechanical systems
* Support the supervision of apprentices, engage contractors, and contribute to effective teamwork to deliver works outcomes
* Participate in PMHC's after‐hours on‐call roster
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9‐day fortnight).
Salary (exclusive of 12% super): Starting salary of $1,356.42 per week with the opportunity for competency‐based progression up to $1,518.26 per week.
This role also qualifies for a Tool of Trade Vehicle.
