The Carer Peer Worker (AOD) will be a valued member of the Lived & Living Experience Workforce based within our Community Mental Health Program (AOD), the role and responsiblities for this position are as follows:

* Intentionally draw upon personal lived/living experiences of caring for an individual with mental ill health, psychological distress, alcohol and other drug (AOD) use/dependence, and/or suicidality.
* Provide practical, social, and emotional support to carers by sharing lived/living experiences of navigating and supporting someone through mental health service use and periods of recovery/healing.

We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

Publicly disclosed personal lived and living experiences of caring for an individual who has lived experience of mental ill health, psychological distress, alcohol and other drug use, suicidality, trauma and/or eating disorders.

Recognition and understanding of how your own lived experience interacts with that of others; and be able to contribute to the development and implementation of collaborative ways of working.

Completion or willingness to complete the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (carer stream) and Intentional Peer Support training.

DESIRABLE:
Experience working within an Alcohol and other Drug professional setting.

Employment Type: This is a fixed term Part Time opportunity.
