You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About The RoleAs the Track Inspector, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Development, Assets & Maintenance Group. You will work under the direction of the Track Supervisor and be responsible for the safety, maintenance and inspection of an allocated section of track.Key accountabilities include: Inspect and monitor rail wear, rail creep, flooding, joint condition, and buckles as well as repair minor issues during inspections if required. Submit detailed reports on renewal or rail infrastructure maintenance items. Supervise and participate in the replacement or renewal of track work materials as well as repairs and maintenance of V/Lines and other Infrastructure assets. Monitor third-party activities on leased property and ensure their works do not affect the safety of the rail infrastructure. Monitor third-party works to ensure rail safety compliance. Complete reports, documentation, and compliance records. Ensure that all work is performed following the appropriate Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Regulations. About YouYou’re a detail-oriented and safety-conscious professional with experience in rail infrastructure or track maintenance. You take pride in your work, ensuring rail operations run safely and efficiently. A team player with strong problem-solving skills, you can work independently while following strict safety protocols.In addition to this, our ideal candidate will possess the following: Successful completion of the Certificate II – Rail Infrastructure. Track Inspector Skill Set qualification is essential. Experience in rail infrastructure maintenance is advantageous. A strong safety-first approach and attention to detail. The willingness to work on call, overtime, different shifts and travel when required.
