About the Opportunity
The UNSW School of Chemistry is seeking a Research Associate to contribute to an ARC funded Laureate project focused on electrochemical aptamer based sensors. With over 2000 undergraduate students, the school offers four different chemistry programs.
This role will perform fundamental research on developing electrodes for commercialization of these sensors and transition them into a viable product.
Job Responsibilities
* Conduct in-depth electrochemical research and biosensors development
* Perform and supervise experiments in electrochemical aptamer based sensors
* Document all experiments conducted in laboratory notebooks
* Analyse and write results of experiments for publication in peer-reviewed journals
* Contribute to writing scientific papers and reports for international journals
* Collaborate with industry partners to seek funding opportunities
* Presentation of results at national and international conferences
* Assist in training PhD and honours students
* Maintain high-quality academic research with minimal supervision
Requirements
* PhD specialising in electrochemistry
* Proven ability to develop electrochemical procedures for surface characterisation
* Extensive experience in performing electrochemical measurements
* Demonstrated experience in materials synthesis
* Previous experience in a research environment and training PhD and honours students
* Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations
