Business Manager - SHARE OOSH, Summer Hill Bring professional leadership to a trusted, community-governed children's service in the heart of Summer Hill. S.H.A.R.E. Cooperative Society Ltd is a community-based, not-for-profit Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provider governed by a volunteer Management Committee. The organisation operates through two senior professional leadership roles — the Business Manager and the Centre Manager — and is now seeking an exceptional Business Manager to join their team. As the principal professional officer, you will provide high-level governance, financial, and compliance leadership to the Management Committee, while serving as line manager and professional supervisor of the Centre Manager and their talented team. Your Impact Reporting to the Management Committee you'll be responsible for: Governance & committee support - provide professional advice and resources to equip volunteer committee members to meet their cooperative and Approved Provider obligations. Legislative and regulatory compliance - ensure compliance across the Education and Care Services National Law, Cooperatives National Law (NSW), employment law, privacy, WHS, and child protection. NQF and regulatory leadership - manage provider-level NQF compliance, quality improvement planning, and liaison with the Regulatory Authority. Financial management - develop budgets, oversee expenditure and reporting, and manage payroll, grants, and acquittals in conjunction with the Treasurer. Human resources - maintain the HR policy framework, oversee formal employment processes and award compliance, and support the Centre Manager's leadership of the team. Child safety & wellbeing - ensure strong child safe governance, lead provider responses to incidents, and uphold mandatory reporting obligations. Risk management - maintain and report on the organisational Risk Register, insurance program, and WHS framework. Leadership & Centre Manager Support - provide regular supervision, professional development, and strategic guidance to ensure operations alight with governance. Strategic planning & stakeholder relations - support the Committee's planning process and represent SHARE OOSH with schools, regulators, and funding bodies. About You: You're an organised, capable leader with solid governance, financial, and compliance skills. You balance community values with professional standards and bring a steady hand, clear communication, and confidence in managing both people and systems. You'll bring: A relevant tertiary qualification in business, management, education administration, public administration, or similar — or equivalent senior experience in governance or operations. Strong understanding of, or the ability to quickly learn, the Education and Care Services National Law and Cooperatives National Law (NSW) and how they apply to not-for-profit services. Demonstrated financial management experience, including budgets, reporting, grants, and working with accountants or auditors. Proven ability to provide clear, professional advice and support to volunteer boards, committees, or governance bodies. Experience in leading, supervising, or supporting a service manager, coordinator, or similar professional. Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain before starting). Valid driver's license. Highly regarded: Experience and relevant qualifications (E.g. Diploma in Childcare) in education and care, community services, or not for profit sector. Knowledge of the Child Care Subsidy system and Family Assistance Law compliance. Familiarity with cooperative governance or incorporated association requirements. Knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 and Children's Services Award 2010. Experience developing risk registers, compliance frameworks, or governance reporting. Experience in services with a Centre Manager / coordinator structure. Postgraduate qualifications in governance, law, business, or public administration. Why Join SHARE OOSH?
