About the role
As part of our kitchen operations team, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional food experiences across our function spaces and *Hurricanes Café*. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, perfect for someone who loves variety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with food preparation and plating for events and café service.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Support the Head Chef and kitchen team during peak service times.
Help with stock rotation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience with function catering in commercial kitchens and/or café environment (preferred but not essential).
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
You have strong attention to detail and can contribute effectively in a team environment.
You have a calm manner and the ability to cope well a busy hospitality environment.
You have a Cert III or above in Commercial Cookery.
You have completed Food Safety Supervisor Training.
You have a Tasmanian WVVP for employment or willingness to obtain.
You have experience working independently in a kitchen environment.
